- Octaves are made up of 8 notes in letter order.
- The distance between two C’s closest to each other is one octave.
- If we start on C, and progress to D, E, F, G, A, B and finally C – which will be the 8th letter, we will have covered 8 notes in letter order.
- A standard keyboard has 5 octaves. (There will be six C’s in total).
- Octaves can be measured from any letter, but must end on the same letter. (eg: G to G, E to E).
